National Forest Carbon Map for the DRC
WWF DRC and WWF Germany, in collaboration with national authorities, are proud to announce the publication of the Forest Biomass Map of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The Carbon Mapping project assessed the carbon stock in each hectare of forest on all 2.3 million km2 of the DRC, using airborne LiDAR technology and satellite imagery.

Du 20 au 21 Mars 2014, OSFAC a pris part en tant que membre du Comité scientifique à la Conférence internationale sur les changements d’occupation du sol et de biomasse forestière en Afrique centrale qui s’est tenue à Libreville au Gabon.

OSFAC Mission in Brazzaville: 16 to 18 December 2014
By invitation of the National REDD Coordination (CN REDD) of Congo and FAO, a delegation of OSFAC composed by Landing Mane (Director), André Mazinga (RS and GIS officer) and Cédric Singa (RS and GIS officer) went to Brazzaville to attend the FACET product presentation workshop (FACET : Forêts d’Afrique Centrale Evaluées par Télédétection).
Moabi DR Congo
Moabi DRC is a collaborative mapping initiative that aims to increase transparency and accountability on resource issues in DRC. It’s part of the project, Improving Forest Governance through independent monitoring in the Democratic of Congo - a multi-partner project building the institutions and tools necessary to independently monitoring natural resources across DRC.
